The NFL Fuel up to play 60 was held at the Georgia Dome, hosted by Marcus Stroud; formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars and youth activist, for childhood obesity Tiger Green. Participating sponsors who understand the overwhelming need to combat this disease ranged from physicians, doctors to Powerade energy drink. The event also included many NFL athletes who understand the importance of supporting their fellow colleagues, in their efforts to make a difference!! Their exclusive quotes given to QTalks stated below:
Marcus Stroud/Defensive Tackle/Jacksonville Jaguars ~ “I always wanted to give back. I met Tiger Green at a fundraiser and the rest is history. Ultimately, I would like to travel and take the foundation to every NFL city. I want to keep growing with more kids and a bigger audience every year and eventually provide transportation to those wanting to participate.”
Deon Grant/Safety/Superbowl Champion NY Giants ~ “ I’ve known Marcus since college. This is a serious disease and we need everyone involved to help build a foundation and true friendship. I will continue to support in the future and off season.”
Jonas Jennings/Left Tackle/San Francisco 49ers ~ “The ultimate goal is to give kids the knowledge and catch the disease at an early age. I’ve known Marcus since college as well. Today’s event is great because you can get the knowledge from all levels… Elementary, College, and Professional. You have to be hands on with children! Otherwise….“the television… tells you your vision”…… #WOW!” (quote taken from Andre 3000 of Outkast)
Drayton Florence/Corner/Buffalo Bills ~ “ I want to focus on kids eating healthy, staying healthy versus the video games. My foundation; Make it Happen focuses on the same mission. I enjoyed the cross support of each other’s foundation.”
Mike Peterson/Linebacker/Atlanta Falcons ~ “Motivate and be Active, I want the kids to participate in physical education. My foundation is built on the same principals and held during the school year. Great Causes”
